2019 Village of Ashville Tax Update

The Ashville Tax Department closed to the public on, March 16th. Many things changed concerning taxes since March 16th. Here is of list of those items which may have changed after that date.

  • July 15, 2020 is the filing date for 2019 taxes.
  • Taxpayers can also defer 2019 income tax payments due on April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed.
  • Taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms.
  • Individual taxpayers who need additional time to file beyond the July 15 deadline, can request a filing extension by filing Form 4868 through their tax professional, tax software or using the Free File link on IRS.gov. Businesses who need additional time must file Form 7004.
  • The Ashville Tax Department urges taxpayers who are due a refund to file as soon as possible.
  • The Ashville Tax Department will continue to monitor issues related to the COVID-19 virus, and updated information based upon Federal and State actions.
  • Penalties and interest are suspended for 2019 taxes.

To file your return, you have the following options:

  1. ​Complete the return and pay your balance online on the RITA website (ritaohio.com)
  2. Mail returns and all applicable documentation to RITA at the address on the bottom of page 2 of the Form 37.
  3. Mail copies of your W-2’s, schedule income and page one of your Federal 1040 to the Ashville Tax Department, 200 East Station Street, Ashville 43103.
  4. Drop a sealed envelope containing copies of your W-2’s, Schedule income and page 1 of your Federal 1040 in the drop box at 200 East Station Street, Ashville to the attention of the Tax Department.

If your information is received locally, the tax administrator will mail you a file copy of your return, along with a balance due notice as needed. Please include a phone number where you can be reached if additional information is needed or if the tax administrator has questions. Leave a message at 740-983-7172 if you have any questions. Your call will be returned.
